Thrive in Harmony

‘Thrive in Harmony’ is a response to the RSA moving images ‘Act Together’ brief. The craft of creating Tapestries is a communal practice, tapestries are a key reference for the illustration of the moving picture. The colour choice is referencing Scandinavian Tapestries and a wide range of visual material that has been explored through research.

The aim of this project is to create an animation with the theme ‘acting together within nature’. The objective of this project is to illustrate a story on a moving tapestry using caterpillars, butterflies, birds and fish to demonstrate how animals act together in the wild. The target audience is twenty to forty-five-year-olds as the audio by Vivek Murthy is directed toward a more mature audience. This age group is most active in working society therefore it is important that they listen to the message ‘act together’ as they are usually working in teams.

The key elements of visual communication that I explored in this project are as followed. Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Onion Skin Animation and Illustration.
